He was a 1976 graduate of Monticello High School and was a retired Supervisor with Akin Industries for many years. David was an avid deer hunter. He would begin getting ready by the first of September and never miss a day of the hunt always waiting for the ''big one''. One of David's greatest passions was to head west every summer to the mountains of Colorado or Wyoming in search of cooler weather and a snow pile.
He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Brantley Rawls of Monticello; a sister, Gloria Schwab of Rogers; his son, Jeff Rawls and wife Lindsay; his daughter, Samantha Tucker and husband Seth all of Monticello; six grandchildren, Jaxon, Ace and Kam Rawls and Silas, Brantley and Knox Tucker; a host of cowboy buddies and hunting friends; a very close friend, David Patrick; and his very best friend, his dog Apollo.
There will be a graveside service in Shiloh Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank the Drew Memorial staff and Hospice of Monticello for the excellent care they gave David. You can sign his guestbook registry here on his page.
