Shameka Shanta Pickett, born on September 18, 1978, gained her heavenly wings on October 19, 2025, after a prolonged illness during which she fought with incredible strength, courage, and grace. She faced every challenge with faith and determination, showing the same loving spirit that she shared with everyone throughout her life.

Shameka was the beloved daughter of Donald Ray and Brenda Freeman. She was proudly known as her Daddy's girl and always made herself available for him. Whenever he needed her, she was there with love and support. She grew up in the Pentecostal church, attending with her mother throughout her life and was a faithful member of Pentecostal Flame COGIC Church, in Wilmar, AR. Shameka was a 1997 graduate of Monticello High School. She was known for her caring heart and her love for helping others. Shameka had a special gift for cooking and never hesitated to lend a helping hand, especially when it came to caring for family members in need. She loved to laugh and always enjoyed a good joke. She was known for spreading joy through her laughter. Her sense of humor and fun-loving spirit made every moment brighter.

Shameka is preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Larone and Virginia Clifton and James and Margeret (Patty) Freeman; and aunt, Dorothy Clifton Foster who now welcome her with open arms.

Shameka is survived by her loving husband, Michael Pickett, whom she married on December 25, 2018. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family. She also leaves to cherish her memories, her parents, Donald Ray and Brenda Freeman; her two greatest joys/loves of her life-her children, daughter Brenisha Rayford and son Amarian Wright; her devoted big brother, Donald Jr., affectionately known as ''Poo-Poo''; her sister, Shirley Franklin; stepsons, Demetrius Daniels and Dontrai Pickett (Felicia); stepdaughter, Alicia Pickett; grandchildren, Jaedon, Tyquell, Taevyn, Laykyn, and Chase; a special niece, Zorrie; as well as a host of family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

An exceptional thanks and appreciation go to out to her special cousin, Jerrilyn Swan, and her sister Shirley, for their love, care, and support. Shameka will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, her devotion to family, and her unwavering faith. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
