He was a Licensed Paramedic having worked in multiple cities and also worked several deployments during severe weather. Hugh loved hunting, fishing, golfing and following LSU football. He also earned his private pilot license and owned an aircraft for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Renschler Fontenot of Rison; his son, John Fontenot and wife Kaitlin and their children, Grayson and Aubri; a daughter, Virginia Brown and husband Jeff and their children, Tony, Maddie, Kennedy and Luke; a daughter, Georgia Chisholm and husband Kurt and their children, Kane, Lucy and Etta; and two brothers, Arlin Fontenot and wife Diane and Vernon Fontenot.
