I served in the Army.
Richard Lee King, age 66 of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, AR. He was born October 23, 1959, in Pickens, AR to the late Roosevelt King, Jr. and Ella Wea Witherspoon King.

He was a retired United States Army Veteran and member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Richard loved the outdoors where he was an avid hunter. He also loved working on the farm and driving tractors and was an excellent horseman.

He leaves to cherish his memory five brothers, Benny King and wife Betty of St. Louis, MO, Bufus King of St. Louis, MO, Roosevelt King, III, Tommy King and wife Ann and Michael King, Sr. all of Monticello; four sisters, Ruby King of St. Louis, MO, Marie King of Fairfield, CA, Mary L. Ware of Oakland, CA and Brenda King of Monticello; along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. There will be a Wake Friday evening from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as active pallbearers are Michael King, Sr., Michael King, Jr., Eric King, Randy King, Matthew Smith, III, Meran Johnson, Gary Freeman and Myron Briggs. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Bennie King, Bufus King, Roosevelt King, III, Tommy King, Herman King, Robert King, Sr., Kevin Matthews and Carl Thompson.
