She was the widow of Earl D. Slaughter, a homemaker and was of the Presbyterian faith. Mary was an avid bowler, loved doing arts and crafts and yardwork, and also loved her church and church family. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by six brothers, E.L. Allen, Lawrence Allen, Rutledge Allen, Jack Allen. Donald Allen and Ronald Allen; four half-brothers, Curtis Allen, Jack Allen, Bruch Allen and Gadree Allen; and one half-sister, Marion Allen.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Slaughter Clark and husband Charles of Overland Park, Kansas; one son, John Gregory Slaughter and wife Donna of Peoria, Arizona; one grandson, Gregory Allen Slaughter and wife Elisa of Surprise, Arizona; one granddaughter Christina Slaughter Kruse and husband Brian of Surprise, Arizona; two great-granddaughters, Stella Kruse and Mia Kruse; two half-sisters, Wanda Hudson of Farmersville, Texas and Brenda Jiles of Monticello, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Tim McDaniel officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Children's Mercy Hospital.
