Samuel David Roark went to sleep in Jesus Monday, February 16, 2026, at his home in Wilmar, Arkansas surrounded by his family. David fought a long hard battle with Parkinson's/Dementia with Lewey Bodies with God by his side. He never complained and was always smiling. He was adopted by S.T. and Robbie Lee Shepherd Roark when he was three months old. Both of his parents preceded him in death.

He is survived by his sister, Lisa Roark Schmidt; nephew, Jonathan Adams; niece, Heather Arthur; great nephews, Dylan Ludwig and Lennon Ludwig; great nieces, Scarlette Cason, Leada Arthur, and Amelia Richardson; as well as countless cousins and friends.

David loved God and would ask anyone he met if they loved God. He never missed going to church and carrying his Bible with him. He loved music; gospel, country, and a few rock songs from way back but George Strait was his favorite country singer. He would listen to his records over and over for hours. David loved people! He never met a stranger and was kind to everyone he met. He never forgot a face or a name. David loved horses and would accompany his dad when he went to shoe horses. He also really enjoyed going to rodeos with his dad. He could catch, halter, and saddle his own horse whenever he wanted to ride. David loved being outside, especially going fishing and hunting with his dad.

David participated in the Special Olympics and excelled in running. He liked to go bowling and won several medals and trophies in both. His family took him to the Pink Tomato Festival every year to hear the bands. His sister always made sure he got a t-shirt. He got to meet Ricky Skaggs one year, and Ricky was so kind to him and did not rush their visit.
