Joe Lynn Jones was born on March 10, 1940, to the late Thomas J. Jones and Lula Mae Thompson in Lincoln County, Arkansas. She transitioned to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, February 20, 2026, her home, surrounded by family.

Joe Lynn accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and united with First Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello, Arkansas. She served as a Sunday School teacher, secretary of the Senior Choir, member of the Senior Choir, and a member of the Vacation Bible School Committee.

Joe Lynn was a graduate of Drew High School in Monticello, Arkansas. She worked for the Monticello Junior High School in Monticello, Arkansas as a custodian for twenty-five years.

Joe Lynn, also known as "Mama Joe", was a warm and caring person who was loved by many. She touched the lives of everyone that she came in contact with in a loving and positive manner. It was her joy and delight to converse and dialogue for hours with her family and friends. Joe Lynn was an avid Bible reader. She enjoyed sports and often attended football, basketball, and baseball games supporting her grandson, James Boulware and her great grandson, Julian Boulware; along with watching her great grandson, Rapheal Carbage, Jr. at his peewee football games and her great granddaughter, Christian Boulware cheering at her peewee games.

"Mama Joe" was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Jones; mother, Lula Mae Thompson-Jones; siblings, Francis Phillips, Patricia Ann Lewis, Allie Mae Jones, Calvin Jones, and Dorothy Jones; and daughter, Genice Jones.

"Mama Joe" leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Jeannie Jones and Barbara Jones both of Monticello, Arkansas; one son, Kelvin (Valerie) Jones of Monticello, Arkansas; one son in law, Vernell Battle, Jr. of Los Angeles, California; one sister, Judy (John, Sr.) Ferrell of Monticello, Arkansas; one brother, James (Joyce) Jones of Waynesville, Missouri; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

There will be a wake Friday, February 27, 2026, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Burial will be Oakland Cemetery in Monticello, Arkansas.
