She was the widow of Massey McConnell, a retired interior decorator and realtor and was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Betty loved flower gardening, working in her yard and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Lanone Denson; brother, Bobby Akin; and a great-granddaughter, Lillian Kate Denson.
Survivors include her children, David Denson and wife Terri of Banks and Randy Bordeaux and wife Lori of Monticello; grandchildren, David Wayne Denson and wife Katie, Ashlie Maggard and husband Levi, and Lauren Tuminello; great grandchildren, Gentry Maggard, Greyson Maggard, Kane Denson, Emmie Maggard, Evie Denson, Everett Maggard and Kroy Tuminello; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Rose Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery on Hwy. 83 North. There will be a visitation preceding the graveside service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the cemetery. The family would like to issue a very special ''thank you'' to Stephanie and the Hospice team along with Kim and the staff at Dalton's Place of Fordyce.
