He was a retired law enforcement officer and attended the Church of Christ. Ross was an avid hunter, houndsman, fisherman and an excellent shot with a pistol. He shared his love for the outdoors with his boys and lived his life on his own terms. You would never catch him without his cowboy hat, boots and a good dog. He loved to tease everyone he met and was always quick witted. He was known to our family as the archivist for our family history. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Norris Ahab.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen Norris, Chance Norris and wife Tabitha; along with his grandchildren, Anna Funderburg and husband Jake, Graci Norris, Caleb Norris, Tessa Norris and Jase Norris.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tony Wells and Bro. Sluggo Norris officiating. There will be a visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m. preceding the funeral service. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Stephen Norris, Andy Norris, Ronnie Berryman, Charlie Ausbrooks, Mike McManus and David Hyatt. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Mitch Carlin, Bob Harris and Gayle Deal.
