She is the widow of Bobby Dean Norris, a retired Avon representative for over 50 years and longtime member of Pauline Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Jo Nell enjoyed going fishing with her husband, working in her yard, teaching her Sunday School class and being a wonderful Deacon''™s wife. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three siblings, Cecil Avalon Carmical, Marvilene Nicholson and Martha Reynolds; and a son-in-law, Kenneth Carl Hardin, II.
Survivors include her three children, Connie Jo Hardin of Lowell, Rebecca Norris Carmichael and husband Charlie of Monticello and Danny Dean Norris and wife Fonda of Warren; two siblings, Wanda Gambill and husband Jack of Warren and Leon Carmical and wife Sandra of Ellisville, MS; grandchildren, Kelli Stuart and husband Jason, Kerry Norris, Kenneth Hardin, III and C.J. Carmichael and wife Mary; one step grandson, Jason Carmichael and wife Erin; nine great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Pauline Missionary Baptist Church. There will be a visitation from 12:00-1:00 p.m. preceding the funeral service at the church. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery in Hermitage, AR. Serving as pallbearers are Charlie Carmichael, Kerry Norris, Kacy Hardin, Michael Reynolds, Terry Gambill and Gary Gambill. Serving as an honorary pallbearer is Clayton J. Carmichael.
