Sherry Ann Brown, age 59, of Monticello, Arkansas passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at her home in Monticello. She was born September 28, 1966, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to James Edward Brown and the late Ethel Fern Brown.

She was a chef for the Monticello Senior Citizens Center where she loved her job and the seniors loved her. She previously worked 20 plus years for Aramark at UAM. Sherry was of the Pentecostal faith. Sherry was a hero! She lost her life protecting her granddaughter, Mackenzie. She was a warrior who had unconditional love and loyalty to everyone, especially her family. Everything she did was centered on taking care of her family. In addition to her mother, Sherry is preceded in death by her grandparents Jim and Idell Brown and Archie and Mildred Hatman.

She is survived by her father, James Brown of Monticello; a daughter, Magen (Brandon) Polk of Monticello; a son, Joshua Strickland of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Connor, Jayden, Makayla, EmberLynn, Braydon, and Keison; special cousin, Rhonda Fore of Lebanon, MO; as well as a host of nieces and nephews she loved dearly and a host of friends that she loved like family.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, June 1, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Valley Cemetery in Drew County, Arkansas.
