She retired from the Drew County Health Department and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Monticello. Barbara enjoyed sewing, tatting, and crafting. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, George Wayne Burks.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Posey of Monticello; two sons, Patrick Fowler (Kristie) and Jeff Fowler, and one bonus daughter, Candace Posey, all of Monticello, six grandchildren: Patrick Fowler (Talyia) of Haskell, Arkansas, Karlie Fowler Graves (Noah) of Conway, Arkansas, Matthew Fowler, Elijah Schell (Anna), Annabel Fowler, and Carly Coston Spencer (Rojaric) all of Monticello, 4 great-granddaughters, Taylor and Sarah Fowler of Haskell and Flora and Melody Graves of Conway, Arkansas, two sisters-in law, Pamela Burks of Alexander, Arkansas and Diane Shivers of Monticello, Arkansas.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2026, in the Stephenson Dearman Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Jimmy Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
