Melisa Anne Jeffers Barnett, age 47 of Monticello, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 at her home. She was born in Ashley County on September 8, 1968 to Conley James Jeffers and Sherry Donnett Stanley Jeffers.
She worked for the Monticello City Water Office and was a member of Eden Baptist Church. She loved to hunt, fish, cook and make crafts. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Woodrow Jeffers, Nat & Madie Stanley; and her father-in-law, Rex Barnett.
Survivors include her husband, William C. “Bubba” Barnett of Monticello; two daughters, Makayla Rexanne Barnett and Laura Cecile Barnett both of Monticello; one brother, James Michael Jeffers of Hamburg; one sister, Belinda Kay Jeffers of Pine Bluff; her parents, Conley and Sherry Jeffers of Hamburg; her grandmother, Bonita Jeffers of Hamburg; her mother-in-law, Virginia Ann Barnett of Monticello; and also a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
