"I was really sorry to hear about the death of Sheilla Lampkin who was a student of mine many years ago at UAM. I enjoyed reading her columns in The Advance Monticellonian and appreciated her thoughtful and dedicated work as our representative. She showed that she truly loved southeast Arkansas by her life and work. May she rest in peace and may God bless and comfort her family."

"Sheila will always be remembered by the McGehee Class of '63. There are no adequate words to describe this tireless, dedicated, and loving woman. She was an inspiration to everyone, and I personally am honored to have known her. My deepest condolences to Damon and family.
