William Bruce Clemons, age 78 of Monticello, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born March 26, 1939 in Camden, AR to the late Guy Williams Clemons and Imogene Silliman Clemons and was also preceded in death by a grandson, Robert William Clemons; along with several aunts and uncles. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monticello.

Bruce spent his early years in Hamburg, Arkansas, before moving to Hammond, Louisiana. He attended Louisiana Tech and served in the United States Marine Corps. In the mid 1960’s, Bruce along with his dad and his brother, built Kentwood Brick and Tile Company in Kentwood, LA. Bruce was employed with Silvicraft for several years. Later, he moved to Monticello, Arkansas, where he was a tree farmer. He enjoyed working in the woods with his boss and friend of many years, Harold Smith. Bruce always looked forward to the beaver trapper Willie coming down every year to trap beavers in cold weather. They enjoyed many good times together. Bruce loved his immediate family, as well as his extended family, unconditionally. He loved to visit with family members, and he never missed a family reunion. He was a generous man who extended kindness to all he met.

Survivors include his wife, Gwyn of Monticello; two sons, Robert “Bob” (Vonda) of Monticello and Don (Terry) of Pensacola, Florida; one daughter, Catherine “Kay” of Amite, LA; one brother, Don Clemons (Mary Ann) of Kentwood, LA; grandchildren, Trevor, Brittany, Rocky, Sierra, Victoria and Jessie; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor; two stepsons, Jeff and Scott Alford; three step-grandsons, Scott “Bucky” Alford, Dusty and Taylor Alford; and several nieces and nephews.
