"I was saddened to learn today of Alvin's passing in December. Visiting with Alvin and Marie was always a highlight of trips to Arkansas with my mom, Shirley Chambers (Harper), who passed away in March of 2020. Alvin and mom were classmates at Drew Central and would always get together to recount old stories. Always quick to a smile or laughter, our lives were made richer by knowing him. My heartfelt condolences go out to Marie and the rest of Alvin's extended family."
