"Jean has earned a beautiful set of wings. I have often thought of her from our years at DuraCraft. Through the loss of my parents she stood beside me and gave me strength to carry on. Many fond memories of Jean. Truly an angel."

"To the family, Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Jean. When I was growing up in Green Hill we were neighbors and I spent a lot of time at her house. She always had time to visit with my younger sister, Mary, and I. She spent a lot of time at our house also. Back then TVs were not so available and people actually took the time to visit with each other. During summer her niece, Mary Kathrine Knowles (later Flemister) spent a lot of time at Jean's. We formed what has become a life long friendship. Over the years I saw Jean many times but once I moved to Woodlawn 14 years ago I have not seen her much. She was always a very hard working woman and her children were precious. She kept them and her house spotless and still cooked and worked a large garden and canned so much from it. She was a wonderful example for younger girls to follow. In those days most of us always worked hard and she set the kind of example Mother's wanted their daughters to follow in working hard and always having everything clean. She will always be a shining example in my heart and mind. I still love her after all these long years. She was such a wonderful person for young girls growing up. Always remember that others share your sorrow at this great loss. My prayer is that the Lord will lift you up and grace you with strength, comfort and peace.
Carole (Doss) Rushing"
