Miles Whitaker Lowe, age 81 of Monticello, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022. He was born January 23, 1941, in Drew County, AR to the late James Vernon Lowe and Naomi Whitaker Lowe.
He was a retired Drew Central school teacher and farmer and a Methodist. Miles loved to travel, trout and crappie fish and visit with his friends at the LA McGehee Men’s Club Coffee Club. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ellen Cater Lowe; and a sister, Katherine Collier.
Miles is survived by two sons, Vernon Layton Lowe of Little Rock and Tillman Miles Lowe of Monticello; a granddaughter, Alex Lowe of Monticello; a sister-in-law, Elna Allen of Monticello; one niece, Ann Kelley and husband Rodney; three nephews, Robert Allen and wife Rae, Freddie Collier and wife Selena and Louis Collier and wife Jeannie Gale; two great nephews and one great niece.
