"My heart was saddened to hear the news of Mrs. Chase's passing. I literally grew up in the halls and classrooms of Monticello High School. From the time I was a small child coming to the office with my dad until the time I graduated from high school, Mrs. Mary Chase was a mainstay. An entire generation will associate the MHS library with Mary Chase. She was a wonderful person with a great personality and sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her. She and many other MHS faculty and staff members helped raise me, and shaped who I am today. I will never forget Mrs. Mary Chase."
