"This is the second saddest day in Oak Ridge Boys' Fans history. Chip would tell you what the first was if he was here, that happened in '95 and lasted nine years, nine months and 10 days, yeah even the Chipster would have kept track of that one. I am going to miss my attempts to try to stump the Chipster with Oaks' trivia. He was a good friend. But I will always remember one day in July of 2002, which was quite special for the Chipster and I."

"Ms. Gardner, Chad, and the rest of the family; I just want you all to know you have been in my thoughts and prayers everyday since Chip passed. I am so glad I was able to know Chip almost 30 years! He was a very great guy who could put a smile on anyones face, he was a very outgoing person, I loved reading his Facebook page everyday cause he was so kind and loving to everyone . I'll never forget all the times I'd come down to yalls house when me, mom, dad, & Michael lived down the road from you all, me Chad and Chip made many many memories that I will always cherish. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten... If there's anything I can do for you guys just let me know. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers and thoughts."
