Elmer David Paris, better known as "Pawpaw Geezer" to his grandchildren, age 64 of Collins passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at his home. He was born November 19, 1953 in Tennessee to the late David F. Paris and Annie Lee Barnett Paris Lytle.
He was a retired structural steel welder, a United States Marine Veteran and was of the Pentecostal faith. Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Wayne Allen Paris.
Survivors include two daughters, Amanda Paris of Collins and Rebecca Paris Thorne and husband Daniel of Dermott; three sons, Patrick David Paris and Thomas Eric Paris both of Dermott and Anthony Wayne Paris of McGehee; three grandchildren, Matthew and Hailey Thorne and Athena Paris; two sisters, Martha Swayze and husband Charles and Ginger Standridge and husband Ronnie both of Collins; one brother, Billy Paris and wife Stacey of Russellville; his stepfather, Ronnie Lytle of Collins; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Rash Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the funeral home. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
