James Leon Rawls, age 65 of Monticello, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at Arkansas Hospice-St. Vincent's in Little Rock. He was born November 30, 1953 in Monticello, AR to the late Stanley Rawls and Marie Jenkins Rawls.

He was employed at Centerpoint Energy for 40 years and was a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his Lord and his family very much and was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (Liz) Lanier Rawls of Monticello; two sons, Tony Rawls and wife Kim and Darren Rawls and wife Tera all of Monticello; three sisters, Charlotte Ply and husband Wendell of Monticello, Joyce Raney and husband Gary of Ivan and Karen Pierce of Monticello; four granddaughters, Mykayla, Allison, Larren and Nadaleigh; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Union Ridge Cemetery. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the church. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
