Carolyn Denise "Carol" Higgins, age 58 of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at her home. She was born July 2, 1959 in St. Joseph, LA to the late Woodrow Cardin and Thelma Ashley Cardin.

She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Survivors include her husband, George Higgins of Monticello; five sons, Gerald Wayne Cardin and James Guree both of Crawley, LA, Leonard Guree and Jimmy Guree both of Alabama, and Michael Guree of Waterproof, LA; one daughter, Brandy Guree of Monroe, LA; four brothers, Buddy Cardin and wife Janet of Vidalia, LA, Ted Cardin and wife Phyllis of Tallulah, LA, Johnny Cardin and Wayne Cardin both of Newellton, LA; two sisters, Ann Appel of Newellton, LA and Rosie Wilson of Ferriday, LA; and several grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at a later date.
