Welcome

I am a Veteran.Mike Alderman
July 24, 1956 - February 5, 2019

Billy "Mike" Michael Alderman, 62, of Monticello was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on Tuesday February 5, 2019. A celebration of life and Military Flag Folding Ceremony will be held at Stephenson - Dearman Funeral Home on, Monday February 11, 2019 at 1:00 pm with visitation following until 3:00 pm.

Mike was born on July 24, 1956 in Louisiana to Billy and Jowea Adlerman.

“Daddio” as he was affectionately called by his daughter never met a stranger. With such a kind and loving heart his sensitivity ran deep. He was born with a profound connection to nature and loved his property in Monticello. He lived his life with a fierce love for his children and was independent to the extreme. In the 90's he served his country with the 2nd Infantry Combat Division in South Korea, as well as a deployment to Germany.

He enjoyed fishing, camping in the backyard, a good bonfire on a summer evening, grilled pork steaks, and his many "pups" over the years. Mike was known to pick up a stray animal, or two. He would try to help any furry creature that was in his line of sight. At every opportunity he could he would jump in his jeep to take a drive with his dog Sadie Sue. His greatest joy in his last few years were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. He lit up when seeing the newest picture or video of one of his "grands". He loved family and friends more than anything. Time spent with family and friends and just enjoying life was a true calling for him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Maylissa Dawn Alderman Russell and husband, Steve Russell of Sarasota Florida; his son, Michael Ryan Thomas Alderman of Hoodsport Washington; his granddaughters, Hadley Renee Alderman and Victoria "Tori" Brooke Russell; his great-grandson, Kal El Pace; his sister, Karen Blacksher; his niece and nephew, Meagon and Matthew Blacksher; his mother, Jowea Blacksher; his aunts, Sheryl Alderman Dewey and June Alderman Smithwick; his cousin, Debbie Tarvin Nugent; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces; and countless dedicated friends in the local community. The family would like to give a special thanks to Darlene Novak for her unwavering friendship and dedication to Mike's well being in his final years.

He will be greatly missed by those who love him dearly, but Mike was in love with Jesus and was devout in prayer. He is free of pain and in heaven rocking his angel baby and grandbabies, catching up with his dad and grandparent's, and no doubt fishing.

Until we see one another again... HOOAH!!! Or as he would say... "I'll check you later".
