James "Son" Brewster
April 1, 1924 - April 30, 2019

James "Son" Brewster, age 95 of Wilmar, transitioned to his heavenly home Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Belle View Estates Nursing and Rehab in Monticello. He was born at Wilmar, AR on April 1, 1924, to late James Garvin Brewster and Lois Martin Saffold Brewster.

He was a World War II Marine Veteran seeing action in Okinawa and mainland China. James was a retired farmer and a member and deacon of First Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, Robert Brewster, Roe Brewster, Lee Saffold and Wesley Saffold; and five sisters, Alma Brewster Sturgis, Ruby Brewster Kulbeth, Jewell Brewster Martin and Helen Saffold Conner and Frankie Wooldridge.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Vivian Young Brewster of Wilmar; two sons, Gerald Brewster and wife Deborah of Wilmar and Jim Brewster of Village; one daughter, Eddie Brewster Brown and husband James of Monticello; four grandsons, Cory Brown (Jaye) of Chicago, IL, Casey Brown of Mount Pleasant, SC, Dustin Brown (Shannon) of Baltimore, MD and Daniel Brown (Fatimat) of Irving, TX; one granddaughter, Lisa Brewster (Dieter Bohn) of Oakland, CA; and expectant great-grandchild due in September; one special first cousin, Dorothy Brewster Davis of Monticello and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Wilmar Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hospice Home Care, 990 Hwy 425 North, Monticello, AR 71655.
