William Wesley James, Sr.
July 18, 1953 - May 4, 2020

William Wesley James. Sr., age 66 of Monticello, passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born July 18, 1953 in Dumas, AR to the late Joseph E. James and Mildred Vining McBride.

He was a retired pipe line welder inspector and was of the nondenominational faith and a member of Ark of Faith Church. Wesley enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and teaching his grandchildren to hunt and fish. He was a builder and loved wheeling and dealing. He never met a stranger. Most important was the love that he had for his family and loved his church. Wesley was a devoted and loving husband, father and papaw Wesley. He laughingly referred to himself as The Bone Crusher when it came to hunting. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three children, Shawnna James, William Wesley James, Jr. and Kristie Bragg; and one sister, Joline James.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Judy Scogins James of Monticello; two daughters, Stephanie O'Connor and husband Clinton of Wilmar and Leilania James of Monticello; one grandson, William Clinton O'Connor of Monticello; one granddaughter, Summer O'Connor of Monticello; two great-grandsons, Castle O'Connor and Anchor O'Connor; two brothers, Buddy James and Bruce James, both of Warren; one sister, Linda Allen of Monticello; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Green Hill Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Hackett officiating. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
