Jack Earl Jordan, Jr.
October 22, 1944 - December 24, 2020

Jack Earl Jordan Jr., age 76 of Monticello, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, December 24, 2020, at St Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, AR. He was born October 22, 1944, in Monticello, AR to the late Rev Jack Earl Jordan Sr. and Maude Boone Jordan.
He was a 1962 graduate of Drew Central High School and was an active member of the Drew Central School Board for 20 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Georgia Pacific Paper Company in 2002 following a 37-year career serving in numerous roles and building relationships across the mill. He was a life-long member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and was a member of countless committees helping to move the Lord’s work forward.
Jack’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, playing dominoes, and watching sports. Family was priority! He spent countless hours and drove thousands of miles to support his kids and grandkids in their activities. He was preceded in death by his parents; Jack Sr. and Maude Jordan, four brothers; Adrian, Bobby, Gary, and Alvin Jordan, two sisters; Jewel Hargis and Lela Gavin.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jane Hogue Jordan of Monticello; three daughters - Karen Murphy and husband Greg of Texarkana, Sharon Hickam and husband Clark of Monticello, and Jamie Sparks and husband Jeremy of Alexander, AR; one son - Kevin Jordan and wife Jennifer of Conway; one brother - Dan Jordan and Glynda of Monticello; one sister - Shelby Lynn Williams of Monticello, two sisters-in-law - Marie Loveless Jordan of Monticello and Francis White Jordan of Monticello; 9 grandchildren – Jackson Murphy of Little Rock, Andrew Murphy of Texarkana, Jordan, Hunter, and Jake Hickam of Monticello, Addison and Kenley Jordan of Conway, Jett and Jude Sparks of Alexander, AR; one great-grandchild – Kai Elliot Hickam of Monticello; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services following Covid-19 guidelines will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Jacks officiating. Virtual attendance of the funeral will be offered via Facebook Live at https://m.facebook.com/sgbcmont/. A visitation service will occur at 12:00 p.m. preceding the service at the church. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
