In about 1961, Allen Maxwell was graduating from the Warren High School, an Allstate end on the Lumberjack football team. I was in the 7th or 8th grade. He was one of my heroes. I had a chance to tell him that at a function for Coach Jamie Raper within the past few months. He looked good, and I am stunned at this sad news. I have known the entire Maxwell family, and they are all exceptional, every one.

My love and prayers to all the Maxwell family. Allen was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. I remember helping with campaigns for his State Representative position. I visited with him during a recent trip to Monticello at the Italian restaurant downtown. So glad I had that chance to see him. Your family has touched mine in many ways. Mr. Allen was a great man and loved by all of us. He has always taken time to love on our kids, be interested in their activities and loved to watch them in sports. He thought of us every year when salsa and pickle time came around, and he loved to tell us stories. He loved his family dearly, and it showed every time he was around them. He will truly be missed!
