Samiyah D'Kia Davis was born August 2, 2005 to Floyd Lee Davis III and Stephanie Davis of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She departed this life early on August 7, 2011 at Children's Hospital in Little Rock after a long battle of sickness.
She attended AR Kids Headstart and W. T. Chaney Elementary School until her health failed. She attended First Baptist Church in Monticello on occasion. She was a very happy child and enjoyed life to the fullest in spite of her health problems. She loved to sing and she loved music. She loved playing with her big brother and little sister and just being around family and friends. She always had a smile on her face and she also loved to TALK - especially to her favorite girl 'Pumpkin' - Grandma.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Margie Bell Simmons, great-great-grandmother, Dorothy Nelson, grandfather, Willie Daniels, great-great-grandfather, Virgil Leonard and her uncle, Andreas Davis.
She will be sadly missed by her loving parents, Floyd Lee Davis, III and Stephanie Gates-Davis of Pine Bluff; one brother, Semaj Davis and sister, Shaniyah Davis, both of Pine Bluff; grandparents, Gwendlyn Leonard of Monticello, Floyd Lee Davis, Jr. and wife, Sharon of Chicago, IL and Evern Gates of Marianna; great-grandparents, Dennis, Jr. and Virdell Leonard Johnson of Monticello and Tim Gatewood of Chicago, IL; great-great-grandmother, Ruby Leonard of Selma; 10 aunts, 11 uncles, 3 great-aunts, 3 great-uncles and a very special cousin, Shatia Johnson of Monticello and a host of other relatives and friends.
