Irene Loving Shultz, age 85, of Monticello passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011, at the Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR. She was born May 22, 1926 in Brownsville, TX to the late Dr. Joseph Henry Loving, Sr. and Abby Lee Owens Loving.

She was the widow of James Beckham Shultz, a homemaker, a longtime EHC member and was a member of the Church of Religious Science. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Lawrence Welfield; a daughter, Catherine Sharon White; thirteen brothers and sisters; and one grandchild, Deanna Marie Welfield.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Ellen Maltsberger and husband, Michael of Monticello; a sister-in-law, Marge Loving of California; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Starkey of California; five special nieces, Teri McDaniel, Darlene Douglas, Tena Burns, Elaine Weeden and Arlene Welfield; nine grandchildren, Richard Wakefield, J.D. Cook, Cari C. Berry, John, David and Joseph Welfield and Jacob, Chris and Jackie Maltsberger; eleven great grandchildren, Ashlee, Ryan, Heather, Cody, Jenna, Patrick, Alissa, Brendon, Justin, Ashton and Chloe; and two great great grandchildren, Justin and Tristin.
