John Wesley Trotter, Sr.
August 9, 1945 - June 25, 2013

Minister John Wesley Trotter, Sr., 67, of McGehee, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at his home. He was born Aug. 9, 1945, to the late K.D. and Gertrude Trotter in Selma, AR.

He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. After graduating from Drew High School in 1963, he moved to Wichita, KS. There he established himself a businessman, married and started his family. He worked as a dispatcher for Santa Fe Trail Transportation before entering the car business at Robinson Lesline Buick in Wichita. He then returned to Arkansas and purchased McGehee Auto Plaza. Ultimately, he left the car business and started Trotter Trucking. He was called to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ and ordained in 1997. While driving throughout the country, he took advantage of every opportunity to teach the Gospel.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, Margerite Denyse Trotter and his son, John W. (Jennifer) Trotter Jr., both of Wichita, KS; five sisters, Ola (Lorenza) Simmons, Mary (Sammy) Simpson and Florine Moore, all of Monticello, AR, Apostle Vertie Pettiford of Dallas, TX, and Emma Trotter Carr of Charlotte, NC; four brothers, Rev. DeJuan (Lisa) Trotter of Dallas, TX, Kerwin (Cynthia) Coleman and Karon (Yvette) Trotter, Jr., both of Monticello, AR, and Gerald (Hilda) Canada of Little Rock, AR; eight grandchildren, Porsha Trotter, Breanne Foster, Brittany Turner, Matthew Kinnard, Malaysia Bowhay, Charles Kinnard, Alexa and Tre John Trotter; five great grandchildren, Braelen Gilbert, Branai Foster, Kailon Berringer, Tegan and Kileigh Trotter; and a host of relatives and friends.
