Alice Ridgell Shoemaker
February 11, 1920 - March 13, 2014

Alice Shoemaker passed to her eternal rest March 13, 2014 in McGehee, Arkansas. She was born February 11, 1920 in Mount Zion Community to Edward and Fannie Ridgell.

She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age joining Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church until she moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1945. There she married Roy Shoemaker who proceeded her in death. Upon her arrival back to Arkansas in 2008, she reinstated her membership at Mt. Zion A.M.E. under the leadership of Pastor Karen Jackson till her death.

She was the eldest of three siblings, Willie Estelle and Nettie Jane Ridgell Simpson, which preceded her death. She leaves one brother -in-law, A.W. Simpson. She was the mother of two children who proceeded her in death, Wallace Ridgell and Roy Cleveland (R.C.) Edwards. Also, she has one granddaughter who proceeded her in death, Linda A. Ridgell.

She leaves to cherish her memories to one grandson, Reginald Ridgell (Patricia) and one granddaughter, Andrea Ridgell, three great- grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
