Mr. Dearman is someone who I will always remember as being a part the experience of growing up in Monticello. I remember being an assistant coach under him with a group of peewee football all stars. Looking back, he must have had a lot of patience with me. That must have been 45 years ago. Always a pleasure to have the occasional visit with him over the years. Our condolences to the family. My prayers are with the family in this time of y'alls loss. I have nothing but fond memories. When Charlie Fred was Sheriff of Drew County his sons and I would run the halls due to the fact my Grandmother was Drew County Treasurer. Also when you entered the Funeral Home he would always make a bee line to my family and have to hug all our friends. He will be missed my so many and he was loved by so many. I visited with Mr Charlie Fred a couple of months ago at Grand Manor. We were talking about his recent Hall of Fame induction, his playing days, and coaching us young guys as we grew up. He said those were the good old days. I thought he meant his football playing days. He said no, coaching you boys and watching you grow up were the best times of my life.
Great man and a Great loss. Saturday, August 5, 2017 |
