I pray for all of us who knew and loved Marquis. His beautiful smile was contagious and I’ll never forget it! I always told him he could do anything he wanted to do, if he made good choices and he had made good choices. I was so proud of him! I definitely have an empty space in my heart but so many good memories.

It breaks my heart that he's gone. I was praying for him and his family while he was missing. Then to find out he was killed... I can't focus on anything anymore.

Death from diseases, accidents, and natural causes are easier to work through. Suicides and homicides are difficult to process through. We question why, but we never have an understanding.

Marquis (Mack) was a good friend, probably my best friend. I looked to him as a brother. I cared about him like I did my brother. Marquis watched out for me at work. He knew more of what I was going through and made sure I was okay every time I was spaced out, not paying any attention to anyone or anything. He was the only one at work that believed me about what other male coworkers were doing. So, he watched out for that too. He was a people person. He could talk with anyone like he never met a stranger. He did anything he could to ease tension.

He was a good young man. Always seemed happy. I'm going to miss him greatly. There's no words to accurately express how I feel. I've cried myself to sleep for the last week and I can't imagine how his family is processing through this tragic time. I am continuing to pray for his family, especially his son as he grows up.

I make this post to show my condolences to other friends of his and his family. I will not be able to attend services, as I have surgery.

I knew Mack in school, he was a grade below me! This was way too soon! He will be missed for sure! Anytime I saw him up town, he would always stop and talk. A great person was lost. Prayers for his family! ❤️
