My thought and prayers go out to the family and loved ones of Dr. Hammett. I was a student of his when I attended UAM and he definitely left an impression. He will truly be missed.

Ted was a wonderful son-in-law. He was a kind and caring person with a great since of humor. We will miss him very much. Becky, Brett,
Brittney and family-- please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Just hold onto all the sweet memories you have of your loved one and they will help you get through this difficult time. One of my favorite memories of Ted was when he and Becky came to visit us, I would cook German food for him. He was born in Germany and he liked German food. I enjoyed cooking it for him.

It has been a pleasure and a privilege to know and work with Dr. Ted Hammett since he came to UAM in 2000. We will miss Ted and his dedication to the accounting program, to his students, and to the IMA student organization he co-sponsored. He was a warm and caring person with a great sense of humor. We won't see him driving up to the BBC parking lot in his beloved convertible anymore, but each of the Business faculty has one of his die-cast metal cars to remember him by, and we will think of him often in the coming years.

It was a blessing to know Ted, as my professor and then as a colleague. The days ahead will be hard, but I will continue to pray for Becky and the rest of the family.

I worked with Ted for two years. We wrote a paper together too. He was a good man and a good friend. I was part of the committee that interviewed and hired Ted at UAM. We kept in touch over the years. May he rest in peace. My deepest condolences to Becky and the rest of his family.

I was finishing my senior year of high school when my sister Becky met Ted at church and started dating him. Within a few months he became my brother-in-law and instantly fit in with the family. I have many happy memories of playing cards and Monopoly with Becky and Ted. He was one shrewd Monopoly player. Ted was a natural teacher and he taught me how to drive a stick shift - mostly with patience. I admired his perseverance as he worked to become a CPA and then earn his DBA and become a professor. He was a great brother-in-law and a great husband, father and grandfather. I'm counting on him to save me a spot at the game table in heaven. Love and prayers from all of us in Omaha.
