Eric Tremaine Simmons was born May 21, 1978, in Monticello, Arkansas to Jacqueline Simmons and the late James Preston Orr. He departed this life on Sunday, June 29, 2029, at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by loved ones. Eric attended Greater Shady Grove Church in his early years. He attended Drew Central High School, worked at Interfor and Walmart for a length of time. Eric had a passion for the game of baseball throughout his school years. He was good at it being left-handed and all. Eric played for the Drew County Little League "Indians". On November 20, 2021, Eric and Terica were married. Now as one they became a blended family full of love.
Eric is preceded in death by his father, James Orr; stepfather, Charles White; and two grandmothers, Ollie Mae Simmons and Bess Ola Orr.
He is survived by his wife, Terica Simmons of Warren, AR; his mother, Jacqueline White of Wilmar, AR; a daughter, Erin Simmons of Warren, AR; three bonus sons, Jaikese Greenwood, Jon'Darius Hampton, and Chrishaun Strong all of Warren, AR; three sisters, Gwin Orr of Little Rock, AR, Denise Orr Moore (Michael) of Wilmar, AR, and Toni Jackson of Arlington, TX; bonus mom, Peggy Orr of Wilmar, AR; five aunts, Linda Brison of St. Louis, MO, Janice Corneal of Wilmar, AR, Wanda Jones (Darryl) of Moore, OK, Diane Johnson of Wilmar, AR, and Leretha Hamilton (Henry) of Pine Bluff, AR; two uncles, Johnny Orr (Amanda) of Wilmar, AR and Ronnie Simmons of Wilmar, AR; nephew, Trevor Corbin; Godson, Kayivon Hampton; special friends, Steve Montgomery, Patrick Jones, Demetrick Oglesby, and Takeisha Davis; as well as a host of cousins, relatives, family, and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Carroll, Eulogist.
