Dennis Ray Spears, age 69 of Monticello, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at The Woods Nursing and Rehab in Monticello. He was born September 13, 1956, in Dumas, AR to the late Arl Clayton Spears and Ethel Mae Summit Spears.

He was a retired Price Lumber Company employee and attended the Assembly of God Church. Dennis was the life of the party and full of life. He appreciated the simple things in life; fishing, hunting, riding his four-wheeler, horseback riding and spending time with his family. His daughter Deanne said it perfectly, “He was one of a kind; nobody could laugh and smile like him.” In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lela Hall; and a brother, Clayton Spears.

Dennis is survived by a special partner/soulmate, Hilda Dunemn; a daughter, Deanne Herring and husband Jason; siblings, Anne Scott and husband Eugene, Shirley Chapman and Arlie Spears; grandchildren, Kendall Bilberry and husband Cash, Stratton, Grayson and Presley Herring; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to issue a special thanks to Woods Nursing Home and Arkansas Hospice for the loving care they gave Dennis.
