Hal F. Gibson, 71, of Selma, AR, passed away at home Friday, December 12, 2025. He was born January 30, 1954, to the late Floyd Thomas Gibson and Madeline Allison Gibson. Hal taught Agri for over 31 years. He spent one year at St. Charles High School, two years at Sparkman High School, eighteen years at Fountain Hill High School, two years at Delta High School, and eight years at Hamburg High School teaching and inspiring kids. Hal had a passion for FFA and teaching kids about livestock, agriculture, and life skills. He was a cattle farmer his whole life and a member of the Drew County Cattleman's Association. Hal could cook up anything you could imagine and enjoyed sharing his cooking with everyone. He was very creative and enjoyed handcrafting all things leather. He always had a garden and enjoyed canning everything he grew. He loved telling stories of his time as a teacher and his and Mrs. Susan's adventures. He enjoyed riding their mules and showing off their wagons. He was a state officer for FFA and held an American Farmer Degree but Hal's biggest pride and joy was his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lee Gibson and wife Phyllis; and one daughter in law, Crystal Gibson. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan Wolgamot Gibson; one son, Josh Gibson and wife Hope; one daughter, Corrie Ferrell and husband Adam; ten grandchildren, Haley Poole and husband Tyler, Jaci Gibson, Annalee England and husband Samuel, Preston Forrest, Paysley Forrest, Peyton Forrest, Penelupe Forrest, Jordyn Ferrell, Taylor Ferrell and Sutton Ferrell; one great granddaughter, Maizy England; one brother, Glynn Gibson and wife Ruth; his pups, Maxine "Pork Chop" and MayBelle; a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, as well as former students and colleagues who became friends and family. Visitation will be Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, December 15, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bobby Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
