Kathleen Elizabeth Swan Padgett
September 3, 1927 - April 27, 2026

Kathleen Elizabeth “Babe” Swan Padgett, age 98 of Pine Bluff, AR, formerly of Monticello, went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, April 27, 2026. She was born September 3, 1927, in the Enon Community to the late Martin Luther “Doby” Swan and Margaret “Mutt” Frady Swan.

She was a member of the Enon Baptist Church, where she was saved and baptized. Also, she was a former Licensed Cosmetologist having graduated from Little Rock School of Cosmetology in 1947, a former employee of Burlington Industries and a homemaker. She graduated from Drew Central Schools in 1945 and would look forward to class reunions where she would reconnect with former classmates.

Always taking pride in her appearance, she was immaculate in her dress, hair and makeup. She loved walking and would often walk 2-3 miles a day as well as riding bicycles with her grandchildren. While eating chocolate covered cherries, she enjoyed playing Dominoes and Scrabble, as well as jumble newspaper puzzles which she would play daily. She also enjoyed going riding and going to the Casino.
In her later years in Pine Bluff, she enjoyed sitting outside and looking at the water, with her dogs and cat nearby. Known for her quick wit, she would often share stories with her great grandchildren about her life. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Cleo F. “Cotton” Padgett; one sister, Virginia Marie Lane; one brother, George Tutt Swan; and a son-in-law, Revel Jackson.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of family and is survived by her two daughters, Victoria Jackson of Monticello and Peggy Pritchard and husband Jerry of Pine Bluff, who cared for her in her last years; two loving grandchildren, J.R. Jackson and wife Shannon of Monticello and Kristi Jackson of Beebe; two devoted great grandchildren, Gracie McDaniel of Beebe and Mallory Jackson Brown and husband Trent of Monticello; and three nieces, Gloria Dickinson Browder of Monticello, Jacqueline Gardner and husband Lane of Warner Robbins, GA and Janie Daniel and husband Shane of Port St. Lucie, FL; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to your favorite animal shelter.
