Arthur Lee Newton, Jr., age 82 of Monticello, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026, at his home. He was born March 6, 1944, in Boydell, AR to the late Arthur Lee Newton, Sr. and Ethel Mae Adams Newton.

He was a retired truck driver, United States Army Veteran and attended the Missionary Baptist Church. Arthur enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Swan.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Diane Forrest Newton of Monticello; three children, James Alan Newton of Prattville, AL, Anita Kay Endsley and husband Keith of Moore, OK and John Arthur Newton of Monticello; one step-son, Ronnie Hayes of Crossett; one brother, James Carlton Newton of Monticello; two grandchildren, Ashley Poole and Matthew Poole; along with several great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Rash Cemetery.
