Randall Keith “Randy" Lawson, Sr., age 74, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, in El Dorado, AR. He was born February 16, 1952, in Monticello, AR to the late Dexter Sigman Lawson and Vivian Myrtle Thomas Lawson Anders.
Randy was a gifted musician playing lead guitar for many well-known artists including Willie Nelson. He was a member of Smackover First Assembly of God Church. In addition to his parents, Randy is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Lawson; his first wife, Medie Frances Jackson Lawson; a brother, James Lawson; and two sisters, Shirley Hillin and Frances Sinclair.
Randy is survived by one brother, Larry “Ronnie" Lawson and wife Mary of Corrigan, TX; two sons, Randall K. Lawson, Jr. and wife Judy of Spring, TX and Michael D. Lawson and wife Amy of Monticello, AR; two daughters, Vonda K. Walters and husband Brandon of Greenbrier, AR and Melissa Scott of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Kristopher Lawson, Michelle Lawson, Derrik Lawson, Tristian Lawson, Jordan Lawson, Austin Lawson, Makiah Rodriguez, Kerri Hollingsworth Channing Lawson, Callon Russell, Breyana Walters, Emma Walters, Luke Scott, Allie Scott and Makayla Scott; eleven great grandchildren; his companion, Gloria Irons; nine nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Brother Mark Stratton officiating. Burial will be in Gaster Hill Cemetery. There will be a visitation Saturday evening from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers are grandsons, Kristopher Lawson, Tristian Lawson, Austin Lawson, Callon Russell and Luke Scott; and nephew, Brett Lawson. Serving as honorary pallbearers is nephew, Brian Lawson and grandson-in-law, Brendan Hollingsworth.
