Alieta Rowland Reddin died February 2, 2012 in Sylva, North Carolina. She was 94 years old. She was born August 13, 1917 in Fordyce Arkansas to Wood Thomas and Rufie Etta Hardman Rowland. Most of her early life was spent in the El Dorado area. She met James Taylor Reddin when she was a school teacher in Hampton. They married and moved to Monticello in 1940 where she lived until moving to be near her daughter, Susan, in 2007. She taught in Monticello City Schools for 30 plus years. After she retired she was active in civic and church activities and enjoyed needlework, gardening and playing bridge. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and among other things taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of Chapter AB, PEO Sisterhood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Taylor Reddin, three brothers, Harlan, Woodrow, and Rodney Rowland and a sister Rufie Mae Rowland Murphy. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Danner, Sylva, NC, grandson Mark J. Danner and wife, Tia of Las Vegas, NV, granddaughter Kirstin D. Batchelor and husband Eric of Eagle River, AK two great-grandsons, Jaxon Taylor Danner and Zenn Dean Danner, and many nieces and nephews
Interment will be private.
