Mary Ann Hartz Hampton, 70, of Midlothian, TX, passed away Friday, August 31, 2012, at the Methodist Charlton Hospital in Dallas, TX. She was born January 29, 1942.

She was the widow of Billy F. Hampton and a Baptist. She loved her gardening, canning, quilting and was a very good cook. She was also a gifted musician where she taught herself how to play the piano by ear and learned the accordion without a lesson. She worked hard at everything she did, whether it was putting up a garden, canning, cleaning house, working at a job, quilting or taking care of kids. She always wanted to earn her own way and didn’t want a hand out from anyone.

Survivors include one son, Paul Christopher Hatley of Midlothian, TX; two daughters, Barbara Ann Tidwell of DeSoto, TX and Linda Diane Sibley of Midlothian, TX; several brothers; one sister, Juanita; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
