Betty Sue Pennington Wallis, 79 of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born March 10, 1933 in Drew County.

She was the widow of Gene Wallis, retired sales clerk at McKiever Drug Store and attended the Lacey Assembly of God Church. She was the daughter of the late Charlie L. Pennington and Susie Wilson Pennington and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Pennington and Robert “Bobby” Pennington; and two sisters, Yvonne May and Jane Harris. Betty was an avid golfer, loved outdoors, working in her yard and flowers.

Survivors include two brothers, Harry Pennington of Olive Branch, MS and Hugh Pennington of Monticello; special friends, Kenneth Chapman, Martha, Katie and Cody Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews.
