Lynvil Norene Watts Calhoun, age 90, of Monticello went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR. She worked for many years for the Monticello School District as an aide. Later, she worked at The Leisure Lodge Nursing Home (currently The Woods Nursing Home) as an Activity Director.
The later part of her life was spent as a homemaker helping take care of her family and grandchildren. She was a member of The Pauline Missionary Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Benjamen Lavert Watts and Mary Letha Funderburg Watts and was also preceded in death by her husband, William Lamar Calhoun; two sons, Randall Keith Calhoun and Dwight Lamar Calhoun; four brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Calhoun was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to many. She loved cooking for her family, taking long rides to enjoy the scenery, and visiting with friends and family.
Survivors include one son, Ricky Lee Calhoun and wife Beth; grandson, Eric Paul Wright, great grandsons Corey Clayton, Gavin Paul and Jed David Wright, grandson, Justin Lee Calhoun and fiancée Morgan Densmore; one daughter, Donna Calhoun Forrest and husband, Jackie; granddaughter Jaclyn Sheigh Forrest, great granddaughter Piper Emmaleigh Forrest; granddaughter Jenna Elizabeth Cater and husband Nick, great grandson Gage Forrest Cater all of Monticello; a daughter in law Patricia Gilliam Calhoun Bailey and husband, David of Dover, AR; granddaughter Paige Leigh Morphis and husband, Jimbo; great grandsons Zachary Taylor and Robert Grayson Morphis all of McGehee, AR; granddaughter Amy Denise Calhoun Hutchison and husband, Brady; great grandsons Blake Austin and Hunter McGuire Hutchison of Germantown, TN.
A special thank you to Dr. Tim Simon and his staff for taking such good care of our mother for many years.
