Leroy (Debo) Davis, 73 of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away June 11, 2014 in Sherwood, Arkansas. Leroy was born in Monticello, AR on March 23, 1941 to the late Jeff and Leola Davis. He was met in heaven by his parents, Jeff and Leola Davis, sisters-Rita Mae Brown, Birtho Jackson, Yearline Lamb, Jearline Martin and Erma Jean Robinson, brothers, Otis, Uyless, Duffie, O.V.,Jeff, Jr., Henry, Tyree, Calvin and Mylow.
Leroy grew up in the Plantersville Community. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Stranger’s Rest A.M.E. Church. He attended public school in Drew County before moving to Kansas City, Kansas. Leroy was never married and had no biological children but he was Dad to Stephanie and Tonya Perkins and Tommy Lynn Reedy. He loved them as his own and their children were his grandchildren. Leroy was employed as a construction worker for many years. After living in Kansas City, Kansas for many years, he became disabled and moved to Sherwood, Arkansas where he lived with his niece and nephew, Lloyd and Retha Collins.
Leroy loved his grandchildren, his dog “Jazzy” and Joel Osteen.
Leroy leaves to cherish his memories, Stephanie Perkins of Kansas City, Kansas, Tonya Perkins of Chicago, Illinois, Tommy Lynn Reedy of Star City, sisters, Iona Ridgell of Kansas City, Missouri, Norma Jean Woodard and Alberta Walton, both of Monticello; brother, Scott Davis of Kansas City, Missouri; a special niece, Retha Collins and family of Sherwood, Arkansas, special friend and cousin, Albert and Shirley White of Kansas City, Kansas; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel in Monticello with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00pm until service time. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
