Wanda Gale Allen Shook
January 29, 1947 - June 10, 2021

Wanda Gale Allen Shook, age 74, of Gulf Shores, Alabama; formerly of Monticello, Arkansas, took her heavenly flight on June 10, 2021 at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida with her daughters by her side.

Gale was born January 29, 1947 in Drew County, Arkansas to the late Wils J. Allen and Virginia Trotter Allen.

She attended Drew Central Schools. She and Richard married February 9, 1963. She had various jobs early in her life and was retired from the Arkansas Department of Health after many years of service.

She loved her family dearly. She also loved being around people and was a social butterfly. She loved to sew and to craft. Most of all she loved Christmas. She had a zest for life. Gale was the most amazing cook. No one made greasy cheese burgers or german chocolate cake like she did.

Gale knew Jesus as her Savior and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Monticello, Arkansas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Richard Allen Shook. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Allen; two sisters, Neva Jane Donaldson and Vonnie Donaldson; and a baby grandson, Branden Etue.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Shook Featherston and husband Mike, of the Green Hill community in Monticello, Arkansas; Mandy Shook Flaniken and husband Bob, of Port Orange, Florida; grandson, Aaron Etue of Daytona Beach, Florida; granddaughter, Cassidy Etue of Port Orange, Florida; and a great-granddaughter, "Bekah Boo". She also had one "bonus" grandson, Kyle Tucker of Monticello, Arkansas.

Other survivors include two sister-in-laws, Sharon McIntyre of Monticello, Arkansas, and Roxanne Shook of Titusville, Florida; a brother-in-law, Willie Frank Donaldson of Crossett, Arkansas, and a host of family and friends in Arkansas and Alabama.

A Memorial Service will be held at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church Saturday, July 17, 2021.
A visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. with the memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m.
