Tommy N. Emerson, 75 of Monticello, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009. He was born April 20, 1934 in Oak Grove, Louisiana, the son of the late Thomas Edward Emerson and Exie Anthony Emerson.

He was a retired Bottomer Specialist Consultant with Union Camp, a U. S. Army Veteran and a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Monticello. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Tommy enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid outdoorsman.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Rosalie Allen Emerson of Monticello; two sons, Thomas A. Emerson and wife, Rebecca, of Henderson, KY and Jerry E. Emerson and wife, Catherine, of Ft. Worth, TX; one daughter, Amy Emerson Cates and husband, Jason, of Ft. Sill, OK; two brothers, Henry Emerson and wife, Margaret, of Camden and Clyde Emerson and wife, Lena, of Pine Bluff; one sister, Faye Craft and husband, Roy, of Ft. Worth, TX; seven grandchildren, Gabriel, Nathan, Carianna, and Joel Emerson, and Nicholas, Kimberly and Benjamin Cates.
