I am a Veteran.Rev. Roosevelt Lindsey, Sr.
October 17, 1919 - November 4, 2013

Roosevelt Lindsey, Sr, 94 of Monticello passed away on November 4, 2013 at the Woods Nursing and Rehab Center in Monticello. He was born in Monticello on October 17, 1919 and was the son of Cleveland and Minnie Lindsey. Roosevelt was accepted peacefully into the Kingdom of God. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister. He received Christ at an early age.

He attended school in Selma, Arkansas. After finishing school, Roosevelt worked as a logger. He served in World War II and was called to the ministry while in the United States Army. He pastored nine churches over a period of 60 years. After 16 years of service, he retired from Burlington Industries. He also worked for the city of Monticello for 26 years. He was a member of the Wyoming Masonic Lodge #461 and served as a Wishful Master in Selma, Arkansas.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Inez Lindsey of Monticello, five daughters, four sons,12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
