Bennie Melvin Carrington, Jr., 61 of Monticello passed away December 11 at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock. He was born on August 19, 1952 to the late Bennie Melvin Carrington, Sr. and Lilla May Marks Carrington in Lincoln County.

He was a disabled US Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War and was a member of First Baptist Church of Monticello. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leslie Carrington and Joe Carrington; one sister, Carolyn Sue Carrington; one sister-in-law, Zeldean Carrington.

Survivors include his wife Linda Camp Carrington of Monticello; two daughters, Katrenia Carrington and Kristi Carrington both of Monticello; one brother, Grover Ray Carrington and wife, Doris of Star City; one sister-in-law, Mildred Carrington of Texas; one grandson, Jake Spradlin, two granddaughters, Makayla Carrington and Julia Lytle all of Monticello; two family friends, Jeff Spradlin of Monticello and Candice Helendar of West Lake, Louisiana.
